AFRICAN TROPICAL SAFARIS LTD,hereinafter referred to as ATS, accepts bookings subject to the client agreeing to the conditions set out below:
A booking of any of the arrangements offered in this site, may be made by you verbally provided it is immediately confirmed in writing or by fax or e-mail ("BOOKING") (provided always that for the purposes of the payment of the Deposit and/ or, the price the time that the booking shall be deemed to have been effected shall be the time that the ATS organized tour ("TOUR"), was booked verbally and not the time that it was confirmed in writing).

A deposit of an amount requested by ATS duly authorized member of staff or agent at the time of Booking shall be payable immediately upon receipt of your booking. The person who shall make the Booking hereby warrants that he or she is dully authorized to do so and does so on behalf of all of you. If a Booking shall be made or brokered through a travel or booking agent ("AGENT") such Agent hereby agrees to be bound by these conditions and confirms that it makes any Booking as a fully authorized agent for and on behalf of each member of the party. To the extent that ATS shall incur any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from the Agent's signing the Booking an behalf of each member of a Tour, the agent shall immediately indemnify ATS against any such claims, costs, demands and expenses whatsoever, wheresoever and whensoever made. Each of you shall jointly and severally indemnify ATS against any claims, costs, demands and expenses whatsoever, wheresoever and whensoever made by any of you who may be a minor (that is under age of eighteen years) arising out of or in connection with the Tour.

If ATS is unable to confirm you a Tour, it will refund you your Deposit in full. However, it is possible that ATS may not be able to confirm you the precise itinerary stated by ATS in the itinerary. In the event, if ATS proposes (what is considered to be) a reasonably similar alternative to that requested by you prior to the Due Date (as specified below) then it will not refund you the deposit. All prices for the tours are calculated on costs prevailing at the date of your Booking although ATS reserves the rights to change such prices without notice up until the Due Date (as defined below)

50% of the total cost of the of the Tour as specified in the itinerary (the "Price") shall be paid upon confirmation of the tour. The balance shall be paid so as to be received in cleared funds by ATS not later than 60 days before the date of such Tour (the "Due Date"). When the date of your booking is less than 60 days before departure of your Tour, full payment shall be due immediately upon receipt of ATS's invoice.

Confirmation of the Tour is dependent upon you having paid the Price in accordance with this condition. In the event that the Price shall not have been received by the Due Date, ATS reserves the right to cancel the Tour or as a condition of providing the Tour to recost the itinerary (including imposing a surcharge in respect of additional costs). Provided that the Price shall have been paid by the Due date, ATS shall be bound unconditionally to the Price quoted from that, unless the Price shall be affected by any factor beyond the control of ATS which frustrates this Agreement in which case ATS reserves the right to adjust the Price accordingly.

Cancellation of a booking or requests for amendments to bookings must be notified in writing to ATS. If ATS agrees to cancel a booking after the booking has been confirmed in writing by ATS, cancellation charges will be levied. Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in number of occupancy are subject to cancellation charges of 50% of tour price if cancelled between 90 and 31 days prior to arrival and 100% of tour price if cancelled 30 days prior to arrival. If a client fails to join the tour, joins the tour after tour departure, or leaves before the specified arrival date, NO REFUND will be made. No refund will be made in respect of any part of the tour, including the kitty (the payment done on arrival or in advance) contribution, that is not used or undertaken.

Clients are advised to arrange travel insurance on bookings in order to provide cover for these charges in the event of cancellations or delays. Before accepting a booking, ATS reserves the right to alter published prices. After confirming a booking ATS will only alter prices to take into account factors beyond it's control, such as Currency fluctuations, surcharges or other transportation or accommodation costs. Kitty contributions are based on prices at the time of printing and occasionally price increases after this time may make it necessary to vary contributions prior to departure. Any increase will not exceed 20% of the published kitty contribution.

Prices include the transport with Nairobi Excursions from hotels (such as lunch trips and game drives) as indicated in the itinerary, in Nairobi, with services of and English speaking driver. Accommodation on Full Board basis at all the lodges mentioned and Half Board at all Hotels, government hotel taxes and hotel service charges. Sightseeing and Bird walks as mentioned on the itinerary. Minimum of 4 game drives for 2 nights at the Parks and Minimum of 2 game drives for 1 night as mentioned in the itineraries. The cost of all charter flights and scheduled flights to/ from the airport mentioned in the itineraries. Park entrance fees at each National Reserve or Park.

D (II) EXCLUDES: Visa fees, International and Domestic airport taxes, (unless indicated otherwise in the itinerary), gratuities (other than service charges specified in 3D(I) above), beverages, laundry and other items of personal nature, any communications cost (such as telephone calls or fax transmission) Any supplementary charges imposed by hotels/ lodges. Tips to driver guides or game rangers, incidental tips to hotel/lodge, bar and waiting staff.

A supplement charge will be applied to all tours operating during Easter and  between 20th December and 10th January.

Without any acceptance of liability for failure to do so, ATS shall endeavour to book rooms for you with private baths on the basis of two persons sharing a Double Room. Single Rooms shall be available at a supplementary price. However, ATS does not guarantee the availability of either a private bathroom or a single bedroom, even where you had specifically requested a private bathroom or single bedroom. Whilst ATS will use it's best endeavours to ensure that you stay in the hotel, lodge or camp of your choice. ATS reserves the right to alter the identity of your destination provided that it shall reserve rooms for you in the hotels/lodges or camps which, in its view, are of similar value and standing. ATS accepts no responsibility or liability in the event that it has offered the services of an establishment of similar price and standing which have been declined to you.

Each of our safari vehicle has specially modified suspension and full-length photographic roof hatch for unobstructed game viewing and picture perfect photography. While on safari, all our clients are guaranteed window seats as our safari minibuses, though designed to seat nine, are only fitted with seven seats. Additionally, our safari vehicles are equipped with 3 spare tyres, a cooler box and a first aid box together with seat belts on each seat. Our vehicles are fully maintained in their top-most condition under the supervision of our professional staff. OUR CARING DRIVERS/ GUIDES Always in uniform, our caring drivers/guides are fluent in English and French/ Spanish and are registered with the Kenya Professional Guides Association. Apart from being experts at wildlife identification and behaviour, they have ample knowledge on East Africa's flora and fauna as well as the regions history and the way of life and culture of the local people. They are also trained to page and welcome guests at the airports/port and take them on a most memorable safari prior to seeing them off at the airport/port. Our drivers/guides also have a knack of handling children and senior citizens.

Each of our safari vehicles is equipped with high frequency radio for constant bush to base communication. Additionally, all our drivers/guides carry mobile phones. To top it, we provide our clients with a 24-hours contact. With such a communication network in place, we are able to provide very efficient back service, should the situation demand?

ATS reserves the right to refuse any Booking from people whom it considers unsuitable for the Type of Travel to be undertaken. To decline to accept or retain you as a member of any Tour at any time. 

H) YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that they are in possession of valid travel documents, including passports, visas, health certificates etc. ATS cannot accept any liability for incorrect documentation. Tour bookings are only valid for the dates and routings specified thereon unless otherwise specifically authorised. Clients are advised that in many countries there is no free health service, and that the local vehicle insurance is of limited value. Clients must obtain personal travel insurance and are urged to ensure that this is adequate for the full duration of the arrangements, particularly in respect to accident, medical and repatriation expenses. If the client has dependants, insurance to cover these responsibilities is also recommended. The client accepts that all tours are of an adventurous nature and involves an element of personal risk, and that neither ATS nor it's agents can be held liable for an injury, damage to property or loss of life caused. The client accepts responsibility for all risks involved. The client agrees to indemnify ATS in respect of any accident, personal injury, and loss of life or damage to property caused by the client during the course of the tour. The client agrees to comply with the Laws and Regulations of all the parks and reserves on tour, and complies with all reasonable instructions of the tour leader relating to the safety and organisation of the tour. This agreement between the client and ATS is made subject to and shall be interpreted and construed in an English court of Law.

PEAK SEASON - 1st January to 28th  February, 1st June to 31st October & 22nd December to 31st December

HIGH SEASON  -  1st March to 31st March & 1st November to 21st December

LOW SEASON - 1st April to 31st May

Christmas Supplement of $ 40.00 per person per day will apply between 24th December and 02nd January
Easter Supplement of $ 40 .00 per person per day will apply between 10th April and 13th April
Children under 7 years of age are not permitted at Treetops, Mountain Lodge, The Ark or Larsen's Camp
For Children from 2- 12 years, sharing with 2 adults in a room, will be charged rates as illustrated.
